It came on after something else I was watching and it sucked me right in, even though I’m not generally a fan of romantic comedies. It has the perfectly matched Angela Bassett and Brian Mitchell Stokes (who are always worth watching) as the wealthy parents of the bride, Sabrina, and Loretta Devine (who is out to sabotage the entire endeavor) as the working class mother of the groom, Jason. It also has some deep, dark secrets, a runaway bride and enough interesting side characters to keep the whole thing spinning. Set against the backdrop of a gorgeous Martha’s Vineyard, all in all, it’s a pretty enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. I give it a 7 because it is what it sets out to be: a sweet little romantic comedy.
